Free three-night festival of light, sound and performance runs 24th to 26th September 2026

Dusk Til Dark returns to Weymouth for its sixth year, presented by We Are Weymouth. This year the format changes, rather than a single show the town becomes a trail of static sound and light installations for people to wander between in their own time. The centrepiece is WAVE, an internationally touring light and sound installation by artists Squidsoup, produced with Dorset based Activate Performing Arts.

Five hundred interconnected glowing orbs – each fitted with LED lights, a speaker, a microcomputer, movement sensors and wireless connectivity – hang over Westham Bridge in the shape of a breaking ocean wave, shifting in light and sound as visitors move through it. Alongside WAVE, the town hosts a laser show, sound baths, yoga and a drawing workshop, an illuminated artwork by Coastland College students at the New Vic, and a multimedia sound and light installation on St Alban Street.
