Discover the Animals of Manor Wood through engaging activities and fun garden games with the family. Students from six local High Wycombe primary schools and two of Hughenden’s volunteers have written stories that will be brought to life around the garden. The National Trust’s Hughenden Manor near High Wycombe has a natural playground for climbing, balancing and make-believe at Hughenden.

It’s handily placed near the orchard, with picnic tables whilst the children play. The walled garden has narrow paths for running along and there’s also a willow tunnel to wind their way through. Children are also fascinated by the interactives in the exhibition about Hughenden’s secret map-making history in the Second World War. I mentioned the orchard. The apple blossom will be coming out to fill the orchard and walled garden with fluffy pink and white confetti. The snowflake design in the parterre flowerbeds will still be vibrant and the Pleasure Grounds may still be peppered with yellow daffodils.

The Easter trails cost £3.50 £3.50 per trail on top of the normal admission price. It includes a chocolate egg, or a vegan ‘Free-From’ chocolate egg, both made using cocoa from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms.
