Oxford Playhouse brings a brand-new season of professional work to its Burton Taylor Studio this autumn. The Burton Taylor Studio programme features bold, intimate, and comedic performances from cutting-edge writers and experimental theatre companies.
With the current economic climate being unemployed is now very topical, but for those in the acting profession it is something that has been hanging over many since Covid. But what if your job isn’t the only thing you’ve lost? On Wednesday 17th September , Oscar Brudenall-Jones takes audiences on a hilariously chaotic, poignant journey through love, loss, and the absurdity of grief. Maybe I Should Stop follows unemployed entertainer Aaron who has stolen his dad’s ashes and hidden them in a tub of Celebrations.
The week finishes with a chance for audiences to experience a tale of Celtic heroes, monsters, and magic with storyteller Jason Buck – Sláine: The Horned God. This production reimagines ancient mythologies and brings to life the traditional art of storytelling for modern audiences. Focusing on the Celtic lore of the High King of the Tribes of the Earth Goddess, this production comes in partnership with 2000AD and Rebellion, created by Pat Mills and Angie Kincai
