VIRAL SENSATION LIZZY SUNSHINE SET TO BRIGHTEN UP YOUR FRINGE WITH HER ACCLAIMED SELL-OUT DEBUT!

‘Coin disarms the audience with comedic charm before delivering a poignant punch’

Fresh from the huge success of her sold-out 2024 US tour, comedian Liz Coin brings her joy-drenched comedy hour Lizzy Sunshine! to the Gilded Balloon this Edinburgh Fringe. Lizzy Sunshine! sees Coin channelling her inner child as she carries a would-be-double-act, alone, punctuated with the question of whether her show partner will arrive in time.

The show-within-a-show ends in a pang, revealing the farcical fate of addiction’s little sister. Described as a ‘high-energy clown fest,’ the show is filled with absurd characters, audience interaction, big feelings and surprises under each seat! Coin states ‘it’s like Glee unwilling to admit it’s Baby Reindeer,’ noting the metaphorical nature of
the show, which ‘like addiction, goes on!’ Coin pays tribute to the families of addicts and those asked to be the sunshine for others – ‘but don’t worry guys, it’s NOT SAD!’

Coin is able to find child-like whimsy in very adult themes with nods to old favourites from ‘Chicago’ to ‘RENT’ to ‘Wicked’ to ‘Glee’ to ‘Singin’ in the Rain’ and even Buster Keaton. Her characters include a sermon from ‘Cheeky Greek Orthodox Priest,’ an improvised bag search from ‘Lady Security Guard’ who is having TOO much fun, and a video call full of fatherly wisdom from everyone’s favourite ‘American Dad.’

Though Lizzy Sunshine marks Lizzy’s UK stage debut, as an actor, Coin can be seen popping out of boxes on Amazon commercials and openly weeping on Beast Games. She is also a hugely popular social media star, with her viral sketch comedy videos, including her popular series ‘That One Couple in Every High School.’ Coin has performed stand-up and characters all over the U.S. including Broadway’s Next Hit Musical (US Tour), Chimp Cocktail (Off-Broadway), DC Sketchfest, The Second City, UCB, and beyond. Coin took the show on a sold-out tour to 4 cities in the United States.
