Two plays come to Oxford Playhouse’s Burton Taylor Studio this week, this week that cover what influences us and our lives, whether art a personal or global scale. The Burton Taylor Studio programme features bold, intimate, and comedic performances from cutting-edge writers and experimental theatre companies. It also sees the return of The Playhouse’s hugely popular Christmas show for young audiences.

Following a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Shotgunned comes to Oxford. Equal parts hilarious and heartbreaking, this is an intimate piece about how the people we lose, shape who we become. Written and directed by Matt Anderson, it is performed by Lorna Panton and Fraser Allan Hogg.

Award-winning company The Mango Ensemble bring their new dark comedy American Candy to the studio. In a world of Trump, Musk, an American-backed Reform UK, race riots incited by US oligarchs, and American Candy stores littering our high streets, this story has never felt so urgent.
