It's not only the Aces that are high! Award-winning rock duo When Rivers Meet, comprised of husband-and-wife Aaron and Grace Bond, are the first independent UK blues act to have an album in the Top 10 of the Official UK Album Chart with their third studio album “Aces Are High.”
The album, which has charted at #9 in the Official UK Album Chart, is the Essex-based band’s first Top 10 album.
“We delighted with the support that we have had from our dedicated fans,” says When Rivers Meet’s vocalist, mandolin and violin player, Grace Bond. “Having a Top 10 album means the world to us,” says WRM’s guitarist, Aaron Bond. “We can’t wait to perform the new songs when we tour the UK in May 2024.” The pair will be at Manchester's Gorilla on Thursday of this week delighting those many fans.
“Aaron and I can’t wait to get back on the road in 2024 to tour the Aces Are High album,” says Grace. "The new songs are powerful and intense. They represent where we are right now as both writers and performers. It’s an exciting journey and we look forward to sharing the ride with our dedicated fans.” When Rivers Meet aka Grace & Aaron will be joined by Special Guests The Dusk Brothers.
Since their formation in 2019, When Rivers Meet have been quick to prove themselves one of the most exciting names in British blues rock. Blending Rock, Blues, Americana, and Folk in a distinctly unique manner, they’ve received many awards and accolades.
WRM were the first band to win four awards at the UK Blues Awards 2021 and another three awards in 2022, including Blues Band of The Year on both occasions. In 2023, WRM won Blues Band of The Year, making them the only band to win these category three years in a row, and the only band to be inducted into the UK Blues Awards Hall of Fame for this category.
I have had the pleasure of hearing the band live on one of their tours, and the infectious enthusiasm for what they are singing and playing spreads to the fans and a very enjoyable time is had by all. It's not just the music Grace & Aaron's banter between themselves and the audience is a joy to behold and holds the atmosphere superbly.
